I make cold process soap. More info coming soon. I think a lot of people may be afraid of lye, but with the proper protection you can minimize your risk. I wear safety goggles, heavy rubber gloves, a long sleeve shirt, heavy jeans and my Docs. I also try not to rush and I keep the pitcher of lye water in the sink until I'm ready to add it to the oils. When mixing the oils & lye water, some can splash up. For this, I keep a jug of vinegar close by. Flush the area with water and splash with vingar.
Why am I making so much soap, you may wonder? I'm doing my first craft show! April 13th & 14th at the Howe Areana in Traverse City, MI. If you're in the area, stop by and see me at the "Cathouse Soapworks" booth.

Update - May 14th
I did a Mother's Day show and had a great experience. I actually did less in sales than at the big show, but it didn't cost me anything to be in this one, so all sales went right into my pocket. Yee Haw!

The craft show sucked. Not just for me, but all the vendors there. Hardly anyone showed up.

Are there any scents that you really like? Please Let Me Know. I have a hard time choosing scents and tend to go for the hippy type ones...patchouli, sandalwood, nag champa.
