Certain disaster avoided

What a day! So last night we were freaking out because the insulator said he couldn't come until the end of March. My step-dad called and put some pressure on him and he called me this morning and said he could do it today. So I agreed. Eek! Good thing I called my FIL because he asked me if the inspections were done and said we'd be SOL if the insulation was blown in and the electrical and mechanical weren't inspected. Heck the mechanical isn't even done! I called the builder who said he'd call the guy off. An hour later I hadn't heard anything back. Called the builder again. No luck. Left a message with the insulator guy. Called FIL and asked him to go out to our house and head off the work crew. His truck was in the shop this morning and he was waiting for it to be finished. Luckily the mechanic loaned my FIL his truck and off Bob went to save the day. Again. I have the best family in the world.

So were going back with the original plan of regular batting insulation because waiting an extra month is not a good thing.

In knitting news...I'm thinking something with ruffles for my next project. I'm enamored with the Rowan Sweet sweater a few other bloggers have done. It's so lovely!

hi tonya! i am 3/4 of the way throught Sweet. i used Rowan DK soft (which is really soft!). This is my first project at such a small gauge. It is really not difficult at all. I got the pattern from the ultimate knitter's guide. i like the way the pattern is set up--each step along the way, the pattern "reminds" you of how many stitches you *should* have on the needles. my next ruffled project will be the 1st pattern in the lastest vogue knitting.
