Chicks Galore

I went and got the chicks today. Wow that's a lot of chickens. They're just too cute for the first week.

I've updated the farm page with more pics of chicks.

How cute! In Greece we got chicks at easter once...but it was so cold, and their lamp went out. In more ways than one :(. Anyway, best of luck with them -- I wish you 100% success!

Those chicks are ADORABLE! They look so fuzzy.

Shetha, that's a really sad story.

I love the chicks! AND the cows and the pigs. So, are these chicks for eggs? My sister keeps chickens for eggs, but I haven't ever been to see them. The eggs are pretty, though.

BTW, I think the link has a typo. I did, however, check it out from the link on the left.

Have fun with the babies!

No, they're not egg chickens, they're for meat. (Do you hear the apologetic tone in my voice?) I know you're vegetarian and I hope I don't offend anyone with my farmy talk.

We free range the chickens and the cows & pig have huge pastures (i.e. this is not a feedlot operation). We made the decision the raise our own animals out of concern over antibiotics and chemicals in commercial meats and because the cost of organic meat was just prohibitive for us.

Oh well. I was just hoping. :) I think I would probably get attached to them. Of course, I even have a difficult time cutting my herbs back.
