I've been on a knitting book buying spee. Last week I got The Knitting Goddess and Knitting in Plain English. Today I ordered Socks Soar on Two Circular Needles and Vogue Chunky Knits on the Go. I've only received The Knitting Godess so far.
Brief review of the Knitting Goddess: Each chapter starts with a myth related to fiber crafts in some way. The author makes frequent reference to her visions and I don't know if I just think she's silly or to be impressed with her spirituality. Mostly I guess I'm nuetral on the topic. The patterns are relatively simple; scarves, shawls, boxy sweaters. I'm haven't completely read each chapter, but it seems to take you to slightly more advanced techniques in each chapter. I particularly liked her alternatives for switching colors.
